Hi! *weird hand wave*

soo... I'm Amber. I'm 15, though that often surprises people... I don't know what to say.
I've been writing since... I was 8 I think, I was in this drama class/group, and I kept debating with the dude(teacher) about Little Red Riding Hood, and we kept arguing and then he said 'Well if you know it so well, why don't you write our new script' so I did... It took me a week, a lot of rebellion (not making homework) and two notebooks, but I got there.
Ever since that I've been writing, but I'm also a dancer, so around that time I was really focusing on the other arts, dancing, I did gymnastics, I used to paint and I play like, 6 instruments... Anyway, I was really pissed when they killed Speed in CSI: Miami, so I vented and just wrote an alternative to that episode (he's not dead, he's in Witness Protection, living here, very close to me on Aruba).
I was like crazy addicted to CSI: Miami, but here (in Aruba) they didn't have the latest episodes, so it was until a year ago that I really picked up CSI: Miami and along with that came the other two CSI's, and then Grey's Anatomy, now NCIS, the Mentalist.
I wrote a letter to whoever was in charge, because they canceled PUshing Daisies OMG! are they insane? *deep breath*
OH! I also watch House and the West Wing.
My biggest fandoms are Hiphuggers, Yo!Bling (no, he's not dead, he and Speed are having a drink at the bar in the town where they were placed), Huddy, Jibbs, Tiva and McAbby, SMacked. I have a lot of fandoms, and that surprises a lot of people... I'm a very sarcastic person, but deep inside I'm just a big 'ole sap who loves fluffiness and romance...
I tend to ramble, if you haven't noticed.
Oh, one more thing! I only started writing my own stories a few months ago, but I've been on FF for a year and a half, but I've never reviewed, because I never knew how important it was.
Until now.
So, now I'm going through all my favorites and I'm working on reviewing every single one.
It will take time.
Oh, this is a long post...
Anyway, I look forward to getting 'into' this site! :D
Oi, one more thing, I read somewhere on this thread that the next challenge is in week 56... is there even a week 56, I thought they ended at 52.
And if pigs can fly, that means, hell has frozen over and YIPPEE!!! I'm getting a lot of money from my sister!

I have the most horrid cold right now. Ick. Which means that I had to put off my math test (which was supposed to be today, and who needs trig, anyway?) which means that I just have to do it later.

Colds suck.

Anyway. To relevant things: welcome Amber! You're from Aruba? Nifty. Wish I was there right now. Anyhting even remotely equatorial would not go unloved. Hehe.

And it's nice to see another rambler.

The next challenge is actually in like, week 70-something, I think. The thread you read must have been old, but we have challenges only every eight weeks (which I say is not enough, but hey). All the weeks in the interim are for featured pieces.

Is that helpful? Am I being over-helpful? Because I hate it when people do that to me. Hm. I shouls stop talking before I scare you away altogether.

Welcome. Hope you have fun!

We're currently in week 67. Haha. :-P It's the number of weeks we've been doing FCG things, excluding the eight two-week challenge periods we've had.

So, in effect, the FCG has been going for 83 weeks. Which is pretty damn impressive, if you ask me. :-D

The next challenge will be during week 72. (Giorgia, think in multiples of eights).

Hehe. *looks sheepish*

I couldn't remember the last time we had a challenge (because they always feel like they were longer ago than they actually were).

Actually, I'm such a geek that I only managed to get through (compulsory) cross country training in grade seven PE by reciting all my tables. I'd never bothered learning them properly until then.

Hehe.

Well we've had them on week that fell on a multiple of eight.

Week 8.
Week 16.
Week 24.
Week 32.
Week 40.
Week 48.
Week 56.
Week 64.

Sooo the next will be on week 72.
Then Week 80.
Week 88.
Week 96.
Week 104.
Week 112.

Etc.

Hi everybody! You can call me Amelia -- or Lily for short (don't ask how or why :)). I'm a college senior. My great loves, in no particular order, are the rain, sweets, dogs, music, modern languages and the Internet. I'm an avid reader, too.

When it comes to fanfiction, I have written only for Crossing Jordan so far. I've recently gotten into Bones (borrowed the DVD's and seen only the first two seasons so far, but I know what's going to happen). I have to admit, though, that I don't like it as much as Crossing Jordan. While I like to think I know pretty much about all three CSI shows, I've never watched any of them religiously. Are you going to hate me if I say that Horatio Caine often grates on my nerves? Anyway, apart from reading fics about different TV shows, I occasionally enjoy well-written stories based on books I like.

Welcome! I love your name, it's very pretty. As for your irritation with Horatio Cane...I HATE him. He drives me bonkers. Anyways, glad to have you.

Taylor.

Thanks for the welcome, Taylor! :) I'm so glad I'm not the only one who has issues with Horatio.

Hi Lily. Welcome - good to have you with us. And you critiqued already! Go girl!

Just for the record: be it known here and now that the divine H 8-) is in fact a minor god, and the only man I would kick my hubby out of bed for!

I hope you enjoy being with us. You join us just as we're coming up to a Challenge Week, which is always fun, so I hope you'll stick around a while.

Thanks, ricefh853629 and marymagdalen! :D I'm sure I'll like it here; you all seem very nice.

Marymagdalen, I love the smiley you used for H. I'm looking forward to reading challenge stories; I doubt I'll write one, though -- I've never written anything for a challenge.

I always find challenges... well, challenging ( duh!). It's a good way to get you thinking, gives you a framework to write within, and maybe gets you thinking outside your own little box and writing outside your comfort zone - which is not a bad thing, I think!

I love reading everyone else's fics - it's great to see how other writers interpret the challenge, and to see just how many different ideas come out of one set of criteria. And I guarantee that this group is a very safe place for each of us to just go for it and experiment.

So Lily, maybe when you feel comfortable enough you'll give it a go!

As for the H 8-) smiley... couldn't be anything else, could it?!

Hello, Lily! I don't watch CSI: Miami almost because Horatio is on it. That said, I'll watch is specifically for him, too. If I see the teaser, before the credites, I always leave it till his wisecrack and glasses-moment, then laugh my head off, then change the channel before someone worse comes on.

...sorry, guys.

But a Crossing Jordan fan?! Awesome! Love that show! So sad it's gone (still, and I was like 14...). But it lives on in FF apparently, so in that case, you're extra-welcome. Wow, my grammar's awesome today.

It's up to you, but I'd urge you to participate in a challenge, if you have the time. They're so much fun, and personally, some of my best stories (according to my own taste) have come out of these challenges. Or just read the next challenge pieces and see how people use them. LLK's challenges seem to be deliberately open-ended enough for them to be both challenging and do-able.

But hope you enjoy it here! Hope to see some of your stuff around, too. Crossing Jordan fanfic. Can't wait!
