TV shows going to the Big Screen.

Since news about all fandoms is welcome on this site I figured this would tickle a fancy or two.

The hit TV show Friends will be made into a film.

Please if there is any other info about this post it here. Also, in the future if any other shows go to film we can discuss it in this thread.

Thank you.

I haven't heard anything about the Friends movie, but I did see a commercial the other night for a new X-Files movie. That made me happy :D

That IMDB article claims the rumours of a Friends movie have been denied though. It would be neat to see them on the big screen. *sigh*

^ Gosh, yeah I heard about the new X-Files movie! I saw the trailer on television and I was thinking they were advertising the other movie they had but it was new so...ha. I'm gonna need to go see that.

Hmm. Do you guys think CSI will ever get made into a movie? Honestly, I can most easily imagine Miami getting made into a movie, just because of the character drama. (I also think that the last new episode of Vegas would have made a great movie, especially if they'd paced it better than in the episode.)

I doubt it, but it would be cool. Didn't William Peterson just leave the show, though? Or some such business?

They're making a new Sex and the City movie, though. That, I might say, we could go without.

Anyone else disappointed with the second X-Files movie? I thought it'd be like the first (with the show's mythology, and aliens, and all), but I think it was really just a big wank for the writers, etc. Hehe.

I've actually heard more recently that they're already working on a CSI movie. So, it may not be as far off as you think. Gratned this is just hearsay but it was confirmed in the presence of my little ears. We'll see how accurate my sources are.

Yeah I heard that too. It was in an interview with William Peterson in the UK's leading TV listings magazine - so it MUST be true!!

No, it won't! Hardly seems worth watching without him. In my opinion but watch I'll be there for themidnight showing. I'll probably see it in theatres a few times. :-D

Me too. Hehe. But what would they do? I mean, it's hard to extend an episode of CSI and make it "epic" enough for the big screen.

They've already killed a few characters, lost a few more, buried some alive.

What else could they do? I'm really interested to find out, actually.

And would Grissom and Sara be in it?

The implication of the interview I read was that it would be more of a "Grissom and Sara spin-off", rather than a full-cast thing. I'm getting the urge to go rummage through my paper-recycling bin and fish out the interview to see exactly what it DID say now!!

The interview I read didn't say anything about casting. All it said was that they "had to do it now because if they waited Grissom would be like 80." So, we can presume he'll be in it.

Poor Grissom. Haha. It isn't his fault he's ageing.

But that's a bit harsh.

As much as I love both Grissom and Sara, though, they wouldn't work without Catherine and Nick and Greg and everyone else. You know? I do love them, but aside from the occasional moment, they're both rather, um, boring(?) people.

...please don't kill me...

Hehe.

Haha. You're safe here. I'm not sure that there are any violent Grissom or Sara fans on this site. As I generally don't mix well with them, so they avoid things I'm involved in. Haha.

I love both characters but they are quite boring individuals.
