Sorry this is late! This terms at school has been totally insane. Really, we've got new units in every subject to learn, resests on old ones, about four assignments for every subject AND we're supposed to be studying for the end-of-year exams, too. *Rolls eyes then glares at teachers* Honestly. But this is the first break I've had in... eleven hours, today, so I'm taking a stand against studying for at least an hour. Hehe.
TQ: Which couple from any fandom have you ever felt was so "right" you knew they were going to be together, eventually? Were they?
Well, becasue of the past tense, I suppose I'll have to go with shows that have ended, but most of my favourite shows have ended, so...
Most shows are set up that way, though, aren't they? With two characters (at least) who we KNOW will be together, in the end. It's not hard to see why. Especially when you're part of a forum like this one. Haha. But I'm trying to be relatively brief, here, so I'll list them, I think:
Mulder and Scully, the X-Files. Um, well, "together", as far as the series is concerned is a bit... shady. But if you include the second movie, yes, yes they were. Is that a good thing? I don't know.
Woody and Jordan from Crossing Jordan. And we assume so, once again. There was finally an 'I love you' revelation, anyway.
Brian and Justin from Queer as Folk. Well, they were sort of the opposite. As in, they were together in some sense from the very first episode, but sort of broke up in the very last. Well, one of them moved away, though they were still sort of a couple. It's very hard to explain without ranting. Haha.
Critique:
Okay, I know this is an annoying question, expecially to start with, but:
"The fog spreads through my mind and I feel my heart slowly sputter out, moving from pounding to faint." Doesn't he have two hearts? I seem to be under the impression that he has two hearts, but I'm not a Doctor Who person (though I am considering becoming one: Torchwood's inspired me), so I may be wrong. Anyway, if I'm not, what's the go? Would just one heart stop? Do they perform different functions? I suppose I could Wikipedia it, but this seems more convenient. Haha.
Anyway, to important things:
"How long is the future?"
I love that line. It's so rarely that you come across meaningful lines in FF, and this is one of them. I just read it and went "...Whoa. That's such a good point." Especially where time travel is concerned.
His description of himself was really great, too. That he knows who and what he is on so many levels (which is quite funny considering the fact that he changes actors all the time), but he is still so unsure about so much. I mean, I suppose you woul dbe having seen what he's seen, but still.
I feel so bad, because there's so little that I can say. It's a great piece, so full of emotion and a very obvious understanding of the fandom, the relationship and the character, but I don't really get a lot of it. Haha. Usually that wouldn't matter, but because it's Doctor Who, I'm having a hard time trying to pick what to take literally. Haha. Which is kind of a good thing in some ways, I suppose, but a little frustrating, because your writing is always so good and always warrants more than this. I feel horrible!
Like I said, I don't watch Doctor Who enough to really count, but becasue of this piece I'm loving this couple. In a way, you convey Rose so well, too. You can tell what kind of person she is through his eyes and through their relationship. It's in such an unselfish way that you've put the relationship across.
I liked the interaction between the Doctor and Donna, though. Theirs is a rather good 'just friends' relationship. It's deliberately written as platonic in what little I've seen of the show, and most people in the fandom seem to respect that.
Aw, the end was so sweet! The tones in this piece were great, from the angsty, to the comedic to the hopeful. It's very smooth and very natural.
I'm sorry if this critique is really hard to follow. Haha. I'm absolutely knackered right now and I've got like three essays to write by the end of the week. *Has emotional breakdown*
Anyway, loved the piece. Your writing style is always a pleasure to read!
