Since we all love each other might as well have a place we can all talk!

I intend to make about enough for airfares then whatever else I can get. I suppose if I'm really struggling while I'm there I could try to find a job for a while. Wouldn't have to get visas or anything, so.

World Challenge is great, Jude! Your son will absolutely love it! Only a week in, really, but it feels like so much longer! Besies, our group is like, seven in total (including the teacher and the WC leader), so it's wicked easy to get around. How big's his group? We've run into at least two other groups in Vietnam, too.

Re: Travel Guides

Giorgia! I wasn't expecting to hear from you while you were away. Glad you're having a great time. Hope the weather's better there than it is here - rained for the last ten days, bit of sleety snow this evening, and bloody cold with it!!

James's group for Kenya is about 20, I think. Started off around 40, but I think the cost (£4k) put a lot of them off, which is a shame really. Good news is we have secured £1,600 in grants so far, with the possibility of more when a grant making group meets next June (cutting it a bit fine...!). Only another £2,400 to go! Easy peasy. ;oD

Anyway - Have a fantastic time for the rest of your trip. You'll have to tell us all about it when you get back - write a book or something!!!

Re: Travel Guides

Wow, 20. That'll definitely be a challenge! Hehe. Nah, it'll be awesome. Four weeks, or two? How many teachers? Haha, sorry about the questrions, I'm just curious. I mean, I'm technically the only kid in my group still in school (I'm the youngest by a year) and there's only one teacher, becuase there's 5 kids. I think that technically, there's only supposed to be groups of 6, or something, but somehow we made it. *Shrugs*

It is a shame, but 40'd be just insane. It's raining here, but it isn't cold by any means. I cold at home right now, though, which I laugh at because it's summer holidays. But Ho Chi Minh City is much warmer than Hue.

Speaking of travel guides: if anyone ever comes to Vietnam, you HAVE to visit Hue. It's so, so pretty. And I recommend taking the overnight train from HCMC, if you're not claustrophobic (six people in bunks in a tiny, tiny room), because the views of the countryside are just fabulous.

Oooh, don't worry, you'll hear from me. Haha. I'm keping a pretty good journal (writing every night, becuase I'm a proud FF author with too much to say, and too little time to write it all in), so I'm sure there'll be some good reminers in there. There's also a group journal, which we're mostly just filling with particularly funny quotes and situations. The teacher with us is an English teacher, too, so there's some pretty amusing descriptive writing in there, too. I think we shuld start an injury tally, though. Leeches and branches and spider bites and bruises from massages (no, really, I got a bruise or two). Haha. Dangerous thing, holidays!

Time to nip off for some dinner, though. Night!
