Eye Fink I wreally need A beta Reader!1!1!!

Okay, so I know you're not that bad; but we all make mistakes (*cough*me*cough*).

I know I'm one for making a gazillion mistakes in my own work, but being incredibly nit-picky and anal about finding them in other people's.

Not a problem, I simply work with a Beta Reader.

Here, you can request help with your work. Fill out this simple form to make it easier for potential editors to decide if they wish to edit yours.

Screen name: [your screen name]

Contact Details: [email or PM - which ever you prefer]

Title and Fandom: [title and fandom]

Rating: [the rating of your fic. Also state wether your fic is het/slash/other ect.]

Spoilers: [any spoilers your work may contain. State the season/episode in case it has not yet aired in some areas - though no longer 'spoilers', it is polite to give the reader to choice]

AOB: [ Is English your first language? What is the style of your piece (song fic, poem, PWP ect.) Are you on a deadline with it?]

Have fun!

I think, it's about time I probably filled this out...

Screen name: *Sarai*

Contact Details: PM here or email leanne_heaton @ hotmail.com (without the spaces)

Title and Fandom: It a fic that I haven't actually written much of yet, but it's be NCIS

Rating: Ehh, PG-13 with maybe a bad word or two (so T maybe? I'm not quite sure) and some people would maybe find it a bit slashy but I'm not intending it to be that way.

Spoilers: None

AOB: I suck at punctation and I can't see my own mistakes :P atm it's just a normal storyish type story, probably a one shot.
Helen: We have to fight our way out of here. No killing.
Nikola: Says the woman with the gun to the vampire...

Hi! I'm a bit new here, but I'm seeking a beta for for my Other character. I would really like for someone else to take a look at her to see what I can't.

Screen name: miamifan08

Contact Details: pm

Title and Fandom: Dr. Samantha Sommners M.D. CSI:Miami

Rating: no rating, it's just a character sheet. :)

Spoilers: none at least not to my knowlege

AOB: English is my first language, i'm seeking a fresh set of eyes so to speak to see if my character will fit into the Miami realm and if I'm doing my best to avoid her being a Mary Sue. And if not, what do I need to change about her so she can.

Thank you so much! :)

I'd be glad to help. I'll PM you.
And what of Henry, my Odysseus? Henry is an artist of another sort, a disappearing artist. Our life together in this too-small apartment is punctuated by Henry's small absences.

There doesn't seem to be a lot of traffic on this thread, but I figured this would be a good place to start my search.

Screen name: Zelda49

Contact Details: PM is fine, or e-mail steinerc@umich.edu

Title and Fandom: "Leap of Faith" (which is currently unpublished, but will eventually be posted to ff.net), NCIS

Rating: PG-13ish--it's one of those romance-but-not-quite-romance stories, Tony-centered, with and OC and a lot of other suff thrown in

Spoilers: Begins around the time of 3.08 "Under Covers"

AOB: I have spelling and grammar pretty well under control (most of the time), and a plot all outlined (with several sequals should I have the time and motivation). What I need help with are the big C's: characterization and continuity. This is my first NCIS piece, and while I've seen all the eps and adore the show, it's always nice to have someone else in the know to back you up or let you know when you've gotten off target. :-)

I also have a CSI:Miami piece that could use another set of eyes, for the same reasons:

Title and Fandom: "Just Might Make Me Believe" (also unpublished as of yet, but will be)

Rating: PG-ish, Ryan-centric with an OC love interest and her OC little brother, so it's part romance, part cute-Ryan-mentoring-a-kid--a nice way to see poor Ryan do something other than screw up all the time

Spoilers: Begins around the end of season 5

I'm not necessarily looking for the same person to beta both stories, so if you're up for one but not the other that'll work for me, too.

Title and Fandom: Code of Honor, NCIS (Jibbs)

Rating: K+

Spoilers: Season 3, episode 6 Honor Code

AOB: Uhm, English is NOT my first language. I'd like someone to look at it and tell me if I'm missing something or if something is wrong, and I need help, seeing as I can't get past chapter 10.
Oh! And I have the tendency to just skip a word. So my intention would have been to write "she never reacted to his words" I would write "she never to his words". I noticed it's been happening a lot.

Hmm I don't know if this is allowed but I'm really just looking for someone to check my spelling and grammer on any pieces I might happen to write in the future. I have this inability to put commas in the right places and generally I just suck at speech marks etc [that's what you get for failing English :(]. I really want to improve the quality of my writing and I think this is one of the things holding me back.
So if anyone would like to offer to just check over my pieces and make sure the sentences make sense, I would greatly appreciate it :)
My email is leanne_heaton@hotmail.co.uk
Thank you x
