Newbie!

Hola:D

Okay, my name is Mary, I've been writing fanfiction for about a year and a half, I LOVE grammar, but any mistakes you see in my fics will be because of this laptop's funky wee keyboard and the fact that I type far too fast and I use way too many italics. I write for CSI: Las Vegas - Greg/OCs only -, CSI: Miami - Ryan/OC only! - and House MD - ooh, too many ships to count! -, possibly even LOST - Jack/Kate - but I don't like it! - and Jack/Juliet and Jack/OC...I love Jack! -. I adore huge words, or small words and I'm Irish, so I might end up using some wee odd words, too! I'm unbelievably happy, too, so I'm not the best at writing angst...used to be, but then I just lost my angst bubble! I do write a ton of fluff, though, and would love to write a short-story instead of a multi-chap fic but it never turns out that way. I BETA, and I can co-write, too...and I LOVE this forum, tis class, all buttons and shiny things! I have four cats - and two strays - and I live in the country, and I love talking! Can't think on any other things to say at the moment, apart from I have a sore arm...and a twitchy eye... :!:

Ooh, and sorry for posting a new topic, but I wasn't sure if it would work in the other place... :D

Have a great rest of the day,
M-L

Lol.

Welcome aboard.

How did you hear about us? You're on ff.net right? What's your SN there?

It's a pleasure to have you.

:)

Welcome aboard!!! :D

I like Jack too... mostly because he's really, really good looking, though. ;) Loved him in We Are Marshall, too. :D

Welcome again, and I hope you enjoy yourself here! :)
Dean: Talking to a messenger of God on a cell phone. It's kind of like watching a Hell's Angel riding a moped.
Castiel: This isn't funny, Dean. The voice says I'm almost out of minutes.

Hola :D Oh, by the way, I have to apologize for using far too many exclaimation marks in my first post...it was late, and I was very excited!

LLK: Hi, and thanks! I was on FF.NET snoking around the CSI section and I found your Greg fic - I love Greg - and then I went into your profile to see if I could find anything else and then I found this place...my SN?

RaceH: Yes, he is thoroughly fantastic, and he has amazing hair :D I love Benry, too, though! He's just so...maliciously, villainously brilliant. And his eyes!
I actually have a kitten - I'm rambling! You can ignore this post from here on in, LOL! - called Ben, and they're freakishly similar to each other...it's so odd!

Mary-Louise

PS: So how exactly does this place work? And do I have to post or can I critique or what?

By SN she means screen name from ff.net. :)

And for how this place works, you can check out the Procedure for Critiquing thread down in the Questions and Concerns forum and it should explain where to go and how to critique in a nutshell. I believe you can start critiquing right away, but your fic won't be featured until you're fairly active/have critiqued.

However if you're still unsure and would like a more detailed explanation, please check out the Front Page/Main Site where you'll find more infos in the 'More About What We Do' section. It'll pretty much tell you everything.

But aside from that, feel free to post around and have a great time! It's great to have you. :)

And I think a separate thread here in this case is fine, unless LLK tells me otherwise. We would prefer, however that the 'Welcomes all avid Readers and Writers' thread is used. :)

Good to have you, hope you have fun with us.

Just one question... Who's Jack? *ducks to avoid flying shillelaghs*

^^ Jack is a character on the TV show Lost.

M-L: I've only seen season 2 (while I was at work last summer, as that was the activity one night a week)... really couldn't get into it at that point because I'd missed way too much by then... haha.
Dean: Talking to a messenger of God on a cell phone. It's kind of like watching a Hell's Angel riding a moped.
Castiel: This isn't funny, Dean. The voice says I'm almost out of minutes.

Hi!

Speed_Cochrane: Oh...okay...thank you :D I think I'd be okay at critique-ing, cause I'm good with constructive criticism and whatnot...and I hate saying bad things about...things, LOL!

MaryMagdalene: Hi! What's the craic?

RaceH: Ahh...it's a bit confuzzling, but it's a good show when you get into it.

Gotta dash!

Jack was always a huge favorite of mine from Lost. I've watched that show since the first one aired. Though, I admit I only got through season 2 before I started having TV problems and CSI became way, way, WAY more important. :)

Charlie was my favorite though.

My favorite characters all seem to die...

JT from Degrassi, Charlie from Lost, and Warrick *sobs* from CSI.

HeHe! Went to Ireland once on my hols. The only gaelic words I know are Faillte and Shillelagh - and only one of those is useful in polite conversation!! :? Oh - I used to be able to order beer too, but I forget what that was (doh!). I can still order beer in several other languages though, so all is not lost. :D

LLK: Aaw. Charlie was okay, but I can only see him as Geoffrey in Hetty Wainthropp Investigates...

MM: Whoa, that's more than I know, LOL! I only know craic, agus and slainte, which I think I've spelt wrong. Have you ever tried Norwegian? It is the absolute devil to master!

Norwegian, eh? How about: Hvilken maktig Gud vi har
It's a line from a hymn that we learnt when I was over there on an exchange trip with the youth choir I used to sing in. It means "What a mighty God we have"! Again, not terribly useful in conversation!

I was sponsored three years ago to learn the Annunciation passage from Luke's Gospel in Korean to raise money for a trip to Korea - now that IS a difficult language! I read it at the carol service in our church, where the Korean Church also meet, and they were all there! I got a round of applause - so either I got it right, or they were very gracious about me insulting the entire Korean nation!

LOL! I can only do, Som Man Reder, Sa Ligger Man. It means: One must lie in the bed one has made. I learnt it from CSI.

I think Italian looks pretty good, and French looks really simple, but I kinda have issues with France since I went there and got rained on AND the flu. Twas not a fun holiday. I'd love to learn Spanish...there's something unfailingly amazing about two people speaking Spanish to each other.

Yeah, I love languages - I did languages at school and at college, but that was YEARS ago! I still do quite a bit of French (actually at a conference last week I had a conversation in French with a representative from Togo!). I can remember bits of Spanish, and German, and I used to know bits of Swedish and Polish as I have relatives there.

Spanish is the language to learn now though - it's the quickest growing commercial language in the world, because South America is so up-and-coming.

Anyway, I'm being boring now! I shall desist.

Au revoir, cherie. Auf Wiedersehen, arrividerci and tara!
