If you were washed up on a desert island...

Know any? Let's play 'em!

OK, I think it's time for another one.

We had REAL people to start with, so this time hows about:

IF YOU WERE WASHED UP ON A DESERT ISLAND...
...which four characters (fictional, cartoon, tv characters, etc) would you like with you, and why?

Alan Shore from Boston Legal because wow is that guy sexy when he talks.

Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice because *daydreams*...

Doctor Who because I think he'd be handy to have around in a situation like that. And I'm also (secretly) a little bit in love with David Tennant.

Carrie Bradshaw so I could steal her wardrobe and because then I'd have another writer to talk to.
Proof-read carefully to see if you any words out.

When we were playing this with the kids, I said "which four fictional characters..." and Jay said, "Jesus... well, he's out of a book!" Fifteen years in Junior Church wasted!

Anyway - that's not my real answer; I'm still thinking about that. I just thought it was funny!

1. Seeley Booth- because he could protect me and give me those guy hugs he gies Brennan.
2. Mark Greene from ER, because he's made of awesome, and plus, he's a doctor :D
3. The Owens sisters from Practical Magic (the book, not the film)
4.Fox Mulder :D

Another Boston Legal fan! I love that show. It never lets you down, does it? Consistently hilarious. And another ER fan!

1) I'm sort of stealing Sarai's Fox Mulder. *drools* Smart, innovative, amusing... HOT. That, and I'm watching the X-Files as I type this.

2) Quincey Morris (from Dracula), because he's awesome, and heroic AND funny.

...before he died...

3) Baloo, the bear from The Jungle Book (Disney version). God, I love that movie. And he could sing to us all, too!

4) The Professor, from Gilligan's Island.

1. Edward Cullen (from Twilight) so I can knock some sense into the moron. He's such a girl dang it. He's so whipped!

2. Hawkeye (from M*A*S*H) because we all need a laugh every now and then, and he's just the guy for the job.

3. Snow Miser (from The Year Without A Santa Clause) to cool down those unbearably hot days.

4. Emperor Kuzco in llama form (from The Emperor's New Groove) to make the time on the island a bit more... animated.

Haha, bad pun. WOO!

1. Link from the Legend of Zelda video game series. There isn't a better problem solver in the world.

2. Jacob Hood from CBS' new show, Eleventh Hour. I can't explain it... it's just eye candy I can't turn away from.

3. Sir William Thatcher from A Knight's Tale. I've always wanted my own knight (this one just happens to make it look even better).

4. David Hodges of CSI... because as I was watching last week I realized two things. A. The guy's a total moron and I think I might dislike him for the remainder of my relationship with the show. B. Dude's sexy.

Now that you all know where my motivation comes from...

*walks away*

1. Horatio, obviously, for so many reasons, none of which I can go into in polite society!!

2. Brother Cadfael, a murder-mystery solving medieval monk; just thought it would be interesting to get him and H together - low-tech forensics meets high-tech. Fun fun fun!

3. Jewel the Unicorn from C.S. Lewis's Narnia book, The Last Battle - just because I would want to see something rare, precious and beautiful every day, and I can't think of anything better.

4. An oompah-loompah (and I mean the ones out of the book, not the horrible orange things from the movie). No idea why. Just always wanted my own oompah-loompah.

It's about time for another round... I'll get thinking. If you think of anything before me, go for it!

1. McGyver
2. Admiral/Commander Adama (the older one) from BSG because of his problem-solving skills
3. Dumbledore
4. Greg Sanders... for rather obvious reasons. mmm... Good sense of humor + openly nerdy + gorgeous

Basically, I think that, between McGyver, Adama and Dumbledore, all problems can be solved. They can take care of the whole getting-off-the-island and finding-food things. Meanwhile, Greg and I will be on the other side of the island engaged in various other... activities.

Argh, I want to go to that island NOW.

^ Calm down, dear!

OK - time for another round. If you were washed up on a desert island, which four books would you take with you?

[Yeah, it's a bit lame, but - well, let's face it, we'll all need something to do while all the gorgeous men we took with us are catching dinner for us, or... off in the woods doing their 'male bonding' thing!!]

Male bonding, eh? Too bad I can't trade the books for a video camera...

I'd go with a Bible, an encyclopedia, Gone with the Wind and a photo album (not sure if the last one actually counts as a book...)

Only four?! Way to put me in an impossible position.

1. Stalemate by Iris Johansen

2. Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis

3. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling (because I'll need something to laugh at)

4. Twilight by Stephenie Meyer (same reason as 3)

Four. Four. Four?

1. Gray's Anatomy - becuase it would occupy me for like, five years, and at least I'd learn something. And maybe be able to help our island cohabitants if they get ill.

2. The Complete Works of Charles Dickens - I know, copout, and I don't know if it actually exists, but it'd force me to finally read some Dickens. That, and they're awesome.

3. The Sign of the Seahorse by Graeme Base - a picture book that is awesome.

4. The Hitchiker's Giude to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams - because it will never cease to be funny. Never.

1. The Time Traveler's Wife- I honestly can't think of a better book in the world. It's my favorite and I always want to have a copy by my side.

2. The Wizard of Oz- Ride in my car sometime. I have 3 different copies in there. 4 if you count the version I downloaded to my cell phone to read while I'm at work.

3. The Call of the Wild- It was my first favorite novel. Something about how I have the entire first three pages memorized word for word (even more than a decade after the obsesion passed) lets you know I like it a little too much.

And...

4. Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West- It's the only book (or story in general) that makes me cry every time I read it. It's wonderful.
And what of Henry, my Odysseus? Henry is an artist of another sort, a disappearing artist. Our life together in this too-small apartment is punctuated by Henry's small absences.

Four fictional people:

1. Abby Sciuto, because I mean, seriously?! She's just awesome and there wouldn't be a dull moment

2. Patrick Jane, because he's very nice to drool over and I think he and Abby would make awesome friends

3. Eric Delko, because I think he's a good cook and my favorite food is Cuban (yumyum)

4. And finally, Julia Morano, from Jodi Picoult's My Sister's Keeper, because I am jsut so much like her, and I don't know...

Four books:

1. Plain Truth - Jodi Picoult, I've read it 7 times and I plan on reading it a lot more

2. Schijndood - Simone Van Der Vlugt, it's a Dutch book, one of my fave's, about a guy who constantly has the same nightmare, for years and then he goes to a Hypno/reincarnation-therapist and goes back to the 1600 and goes through a lot of things

3. Hamlet - Shakespeare, because it's awesome.

4. The Lost Continent - Bill Bryson, again, because it's awesome!
