*waves hands wildly* I have one! I have one!

Dork much? Yes. It explains why Jodie and I get along so well.

I noticed the avatar file sizes are at 25KB. I was wondering if it's possible to up the file size so members can have a bit more freedom as to what file they save their icons as. Mine are usually .jpg and .gif but exceed 25KB. They're mostly 29-39KB. So I can't have an avatar at the moment 'cause I'm such a size goober with Photoshop.

If not, that's cool! Upping the sizes might screw with bandwidth so I'd understand that. And if this is more of a question than a suggestion, feel free to spank me.

I've just had a fight with the admin control about this  . It was driving me up the wall. I checked though my own avatars to go for an average size, but it wasn't until after I realized mine are all saved as .gifs

Size is being 'upped' as we speak. Thanks for pointing it out.

I'll need any 'errors' or funny things to be pointed out while we're still ironing out creases. :D

I don't have any suggestions as of yet. And if I did I think I'd just put them into action without asking.

:-D

Sept... I want someone to make me a spiffy new avvy. Maybe I'll make it myself.

Can we have a request forum? Where you can request, like, a story challenge, or for an avatar, or a signature banner or something?

Castiel: This isn't funny, Dean. The voice says I'm almost out of minutes.

Yes. Except maybe not challenges. We do a challenge here every eight weeks so that pretty much covers that.

I'm also thinking about doing challenges on a prepetual scale. Every two weeks we'll start a new one. Obviously everyone won't participate every time. But if you ever wanted to it would only be two weeks wait.

What do you think of that, everyone?

To LLK and her Challenge Idea

Postby Amanda_Ruth on Mon Jun 02, 2008 2:17 am

*tacklehug*

Start the new challenge NEOW! LOL!

I like that two week idea, with choice of participation. That would work wonderfully with my insane schedule. And I'm sure with everyone else's as well.

*thumbs up*... again

I like challenges. :D I think it's a good idea. :)

We'll see. It'd still be by critique by challenge rules which could cause problems for the 2nd weeks.

I'll think about it.

Suggestion

Postby Amanda_Ruth on Mon Jun 02, 2008 2:31 am

I have a suggestion for the challenges. Instead of every two weeks, which would definitely be a pain, make it every four. As in, once a month. That way, you can feature two stories per month, and do a challenge. OOOR... or you could just feature a story at the same time as the challenge, and people could choose to critique the story and do the challenge, just do the critique, or just do the challenge. Sounds a bit complicated, but it's simple to me.

Again, just a suggestion. But... think about it, k?

No. I'm not letting challenge stories get in the way of critiques.

End of.

Every eight weeks it's nice to change things up. But, no more than that.

It would be at the same time... or Critiques would win out.

Sorry for the confusion.

Just a suggestion for the General Discussion thread as it appears to be in Questions & Suggestions. Would it make sense to place General Discussion as its own forum? Folks may be able to find it easier because at the moment, I wouldn't have guessed that a GenDisc. thread would be placed with questions. I know it's also a Miscellaneous forum but at the moment, it's pretty much all QSF related. Maybe place Misc as a separate forum with GenDisc. as a thread there? I don't know. Your choice. :)

oh well I do agree with that but making its own forum is kinda seemed like a waste. Plus then we'd have to have someone mod it.

We can, however, put in misc.

Is it possible to change the scroll bar colour? (I know! Lamezor question of the century. Commence the laugh-fest) It's almost the same as the scroll itself and it's sometimes hard to figure out where it is, thus hurting my eyes.

I don't know if there's a style sheet that can be changed or anything and really, it's not that big of a deal because this site is about critiquing not principarily about cosmetics, lol. But I thought I'd ask anyway because I'm cool like that.

I know you have all pretty much shrugged off the idea of more challenges, but I have a suggestion that just might work.

You can keep things exactly as they are, but add a new forum. In this forum, each individual thread can represent a different show. In each thread, members can post 'mini-challenges' that they have created. When someone finds a 'mini-challenge' they would like to take a shot at, they PM the author and let them know. When the MC (mini-challenge) is completed the one who created the challenge must critique it and rate it on how well they think the author met the standards.

That way, challenges are only done and given when the author and supplier have the time. So theoretically, it would not affect the way normal critiquing or eight week challenges are done.

Let me know what you think. I'd be happy to monitor the forum if needed.
