Hi guys.

Just to completely change the topic for a moment! I spent an hour in hospital on Friday night cos I hurt my finger (aaah!)! :(

I tore the extensor tendons in the middle finger of my right hand. I have to keep it completely straight in a splint for 6 - 8 weeks to enable the tendons to re-attach themselves. So how did I do it? I'd like to say I did it juggling elephants on a high wire across the Grand Canyon while singing Knees up Mother Brown and drinking a party seven of gin.

I'd like to say that, but actually: I was wriggling out of a pair of tight jeans and caught my finger in the waistband! (I like the elephant story better - it's more believable!) Would you believe ANYONE could do so much damage in such a stupid way? (Well, actually, I presume some of you would cos you've just got biology A level!!)

So the next six weeks at least are going to be such fun for someone who writes and types for a living and plays the clarinet for fun!

*sighs* At least it doesn't hurt! I just want some sympathy! :D

Oh, Leni, I'm so sorry... It's like when Emily Procter poked her face with some kind of key, because she wanted to scratch it, but she forgot that she had a key in her hand. Anyway, I'm glad it doesn't hurt, but I'm sorry about the clarinet and your job. I guess it's going to be a bit hard...

Aw Leni, that sucks. EEK!

Hah, don't feel bad. My mom was putting on her underwear and fell over, breaking her toe. So it could be worse.

I like the elephant story myself, though. Hee.

Lol. Oh that's just terrible Leni! But I've done some pretty stupid things.

I tore tendons in my shoulder once a few years ago when I was taking a backpack off and trying to put it on my desk. It was my senior year of high school in Anatomy class, I'll never forget it. I still have a very limited range with that arm (because I never did go to the doctor). I still don't know how I did it.

Also there was this one time (also my senior year, I think) I was playing football in the yard with my neighbors, sisters, brother, and boyfriend. I ran to catch the ball and my little neighbor Ashley (8ish at the time) fell down in front of me, and I tripped over her. Well I slammed my foot into her leg effectively jamming my little toe. I tried to walk it off because I thought it was just stubbed but that just hurt worse. After spending twenty minutes convinced I'd hurt Ashley as badly as I'd hurt myself I tried to walk inside which didn't go too well... by then the entire side of my foot was purple. That was one of the most painful things ever and hurt for weeks...

Another time (I think about a year ago) I bent down to pick up my little sister's cat back home and threw out my back.

And this past March (I think? I'm pretty sure Amanda may remember this) I was walking outside between my car and my roomate's and I slipped and fell and I'm pretty sure I broke my tail bone. I couldn't walk for several days and just laying in bed hurt just as much as trying to move. The only thing that helped was standing... It had been about 16 degrees (f) outside for a few months and we had 2 inches of solid ice for a driveway. Yay mountains!

I'm accident prone I guess... though before my senior year of high school I don't think I'd ever even thought about seeing the inside of an emergency room. (Even though I've never been to a doctor for anything like that.)

Sometimes we just hurt ourselves in stupid ways...

Your injury aside, an hour in A&E on a Friday night is actually amazing!

Now onto the injury - how rubbish! I hope it heals fast and doesn't cause you too much pain :(.

Soo I started to wear my hair curly these days and I decided to share a few pics. :D

This is Aaron and I at Outback. My hair is just kinda wet here... but it's still a cute (ish) pic. :)

Can you tell when I stopped dying my hair? Lol. But this is a pretty good one of my curly hair. (Ish) This is Brittney in the pic if you don't remember.

And an adorable one of my friend Amy's dog Lira and I. And I kinda don't look so chubby. :)

 Haha! Love the pics - especially the snoozy-doggy one! So cute!

And it made me smile, which is good, cos I am SO cheesed off right now! I just discovered that after spending the last 4+ weeks completely re-writing my first fanfic, adding loads of detail, more plotty bits, and... well, just making it tons better - I LOST IT ALL! Hours of work, thousands of words - and I don't even know how I did it! :(

*SCREAMS SO LOUD I EVEN MADE THE SNAKE JUMP!*

The only consolation is that I still have the original original, but there is just no way that I'm ever going to be able to remember all the changes I made, and I feel like it's just never going to be as good as it got.

OK, Jon just handed me a glass of wine, so I'm going to go drown my sorrows before I really start crying!

Wow! That's terrible.

I'm sorry Leni. Wow... I'd cry.

:(

Any chance you can find it in recent documents? Or do a PC restore? Or... I could call my friend Jesse. Mayhaps he has ideas.

I feel your pain, Leni. I had a flash drive die on me back in April, right before I was to print out and turn in this huge paper that I worked really hard on. Fortunately, my teacher understood, but anyway...

That flash drive also had all of my stories, so it was a pretty huge loss and I had to start over again with a lot of them.

*hugs* I'm sorry to hear about your document being lost. :(

Castiel: This isn't funny, Dean. The voice says I'm almost out of minutes.

Leni, I'm so sorry that happened to you. I've done it myself, and I finally changed my settings to auto save my work every 10 minutes.

Do you know if you accidentally deleted the file or if you closed it without saving it? If you sent the file to the recycle bin it can be recovered IF you haven't cleaned it out.

Just a thought...

*Sings* " I am H-A-P-P-Y, I am H-A-P-P-Y" :D (Sorry - anyone who hasn't been to Sunday school in the last 30 years won't even know that song!!)

BUT: "I AM H-A-P-P-Y!" :D I got my story back! I won't go into details of how I lost it (cos I'm not entirely sure!), but it wasn't just deleted, it was saved over and well and truly gone in the normal scheme of things. However - apparently Windows saves absolutely everything, so whether you can see it or find it or not, it's all saved somewhere in the guts of the machine. My brother and his girl friend and his friend who works with computers and I all did a bit of googling (well, a LOT of googling!) and found a free download called "ShadowExplorer" - basically it's a programme that can rummage around the computer and retrieve anything (apparently called "shadow copies") saved on Windows Vista. :D

So - thanks for the sympathy, guys, but... "WOOHOO!" :D

If you ever need "ShadowExplorer", let me know, and I'll send you the URL (it's actually on the Indian pcworld website! Bizarre!)

I am so happy, happy, happy!

But racefh - thanks for the hug! I am so sorry about you losing your flashdrive. :( Sometimes there really is nothing you can do but mourn the loss. I felt last night like I was really making a big fuss over something really quite insignificant, but I guess when it's something you've created, something of yourself, it really is a loss. (Eugh, didn't mean to sound like I'm 'all that', but - oh, you guys know what I mean!)

Maybe there's something to be said for good old pen and paper after all! (My dad has what he calls his 'word processor' - it's a pencil with an eraser on the end!! )

Ha, I got my university accomodation thing through the post today and it seems I'm the halls where 27 people share a kitchen...sounds...fun :S

^^ Lol, don't even talk to me about university accommodation. (But, 27 to a kitchen... is that legal?)

You got your reading list yet? I went into Waterstones today and they have none of the insanely huge, multiple books I need.

How rubbish.
