Hehe... I'm Nutters... Are YOU?

[font=Times New Roman]HEY GUYS! I had this crazy idea about four minutes ago, and decided that this was the best place to post it, because all of you have the same problem I do... addiction... TO TV!! (crazies)

I was wondering if any of you were experiencing the same level of addiction as I am. I, personally, have picked up the habits of some of my favorite TV characters (i.e. drinking WAY TOO MUCH coffee for my own good, like Lorelai and Rory Gilmore, or listening to Marilyn Manson and Evanescence thanks to Gregory Hojem Sanders (beats him with an iron fist)). If you guys DO have this same problem, post it here! I wanna know!

...

Unless you committed murder... like the Joker or Scarecrow... or are a vampire, like Edward... or a werewolf like Jacob... you can keep that to yourself.

Umm, the only thing I can think of, and it's a little materialistic, is that if I see someone wearing a nice top/skirt/outfit, I consciously look out for it or something similar next time I go shopping.

And that's all I got.

Well, I tend to stand with my hands on my hips and look at the kids over my glasses - but then they say I've been doing that since way before Horatio ever appeared, so... maybe he got it from me? Hehehe! :D

And the clothes thing ^ - yeah, except I tend to look at them and think "I could never be skinny enough to fit into that!" :(

Yeah, I can relate to the coffee thing, trust me. Mostly, actually, I pick up words. Like 'Wiggins' (too much Buffy), and I have to say I find Messer's 'Boom, baby!' come into my mind on strange occasions. Which is probably not good, considering I don't have a New York accent. I don't even have an American accent...

Then there's the Gilmore Girls' ranting, but I think I've always done that... And I seem to have picked up Tony Hill's lack of social skills, though, again, I'm not sure if that's just me.

I don't really think I'm old enough to have picked up any of the more... independant/adult habits, though. I mean things like only eating microwaveable food, or forgetting to set alarms, etc. Maybe I'll develop some long overdue ones when I've moved out. Tell you in about three years.

LOL! YAY! I'm not the only crazy one. You guys help me feel like I fit in.

Giorgia... I'm nineteen and I still live with my dad... it's kinda sad.

And as for the topic of this discussion, I discovered a couple new ones: My taste in music, for one. I picked up Rory's and Jess's taste in music from Gilmore Girls, and also found myself officially obsessed with The Who after I started watching CSI (even though I already loved them before I started).

If you guys think of anything else, or if I think of anything else, we can just come back here, k?

Haha, I wouldn't say "sad". I mean, my brother turns nineteen in like a month, and he still lives at home. He tried the moving out thing and it didn't really take.

Unfortunately for me, though, I will have to leave home if I decide to study anthropology at uni. Our state's one uni doesn't have it, and we're an island-state, so no commuting for me. Besides, I figure if I'm going to have to move, I may as well do it inter-continentally. God, is that a terrifying prospect.

Geez, see what I mean about ranting?

Back on topic: The Kinks. Love them. Heard them on an episode of Crossing Jordan a couple of years ago.

O_O

No. Way.

That's how I got into The Kinks. I <3 Crossing Jordan... but especially Jerry O'Connell =P

Yeah, I love it. I caught the tail end of the series becase I was like... ten (?) when it started. My FF profile actually lists all my favourite shows. I challenge you to find one I was actually old enough to see the beginning of. Or the end, for that matter (See: X-Files).

Except Bones, I don't think there is one...

I did something today that applies to this thread!

As I was driving home from visiting family I realized that it was snowing in my little town. Well, that's the first snow of the season. I was suddenly overcome with the urge to go for a long walk and enjoy the falling of the first snow. (You know...so I could be like Lorelai.)

Well I mentioned the desire in passing to my friend Jesse (for those of you who know who this is.... don't judge) and he offered to go with me. So, after seriously considering saying no for a while I decided to go for it.

We walked for about an hour and a half around the entire town. It was fun because my town is so small and cute and Stars Hallow esque. I felt just like Lorelai Gilmore.

It was one of the most amazing nights I've had in a long time. :-)
And what of Henry, my Odysseus? Henry is an artist of another sort, a disappearing artist. Our life together in this too-small apartment is punctuated by Henry's small absences.

Man, I wish it snowed here. I mean, our whole continent is devoid of snow (save a few mountians). It is evil, I tell you. At least snow gives the cold weather an excuse for being so cold. I mean, we get rain, and occasional sleet. Annoyingly enough, it always seems to sleet when I'm playing soccer. In shorts.

Evil, I tell you!

Anyway, that's my lot. Thought I'd rant a little. Snow makes me jealous...

Giorgia - you want to swap homes? I want sunshine and warmth, but they're forecasting snow here this week! :(

And it was so windy last weekend my son got blown off his scooter and ended up in hospital.

And we've had so much rain in the last couple of years we've had nothing you could call "summer". I got stranded and almost lost my car in the Sheffield floods last year! Not fun, I can tell you.

I keep telling my family we should move to the Bahamas, but they won't do it. I can feel a divorce comin' on!

I can agree with no-Summer sucking. Last time I went to the US, we missed our summer, so we got three winters in like a year. Though, that said, another time I was in the US, we had such bad bushfires at home that our house was pretty damn close to being kindling.

I can't imagine many people who are happy with their weather all the year round.

I'm hungry... There's another habit I've picked up, only not from any specific character, just from crime shows in general:

Eating random things at random times.
