My boss almost missed her niece's wedding; she assumed it was on a Saturday, but it was the Friday. Luckily her niece lived on the same road, and she realised what was happening when she saw the bridesmaids running up and down the street and getting in the cars!!

Have you ever felt very angry at your employer/authority figure for overlooking you for a promotion/honor that you thought you deserved?

No - not very angry at being overlooked, although it's happened a few times. What really annoys me is if the person chosen to do that thing makes a mess of it, and I know darn well I could have done it better!

Have you ever got up really early just to watch a sunrise or listen to the dawn chorus?

(I'm going to a conference in April, and I've somehow promised my friend I'll do just that while we're there! Unfortunately, I have a reputation at these conferences for only turning up for morning prayers if I'm actually leading the prayers - and even then I can't guarantee to be conscious! )

Oh yeah. Especially if I can't sleep. I can see the beach from my house and I love watching the sun rise across it in the mornings :D. Kinda miss it here in Southampton because the night life has made me nocturnal, but dusk is pretty awesome :P.

And wow are birds noisy in the morning!!!

Have you ever been caught daydreaming by the person you were daydreaming about?
Proof-read carefully to see if you any words out.

There was a good one about my year seven math teacher being eaten by a velociraptor, and she wasn't too happy that I wasn't working. That was a good giggle-stifling moment.

Have you ever ditched a friend while at their house to hang out with their siblings or parents?

No, can't say that I have. Sorry - boring answer, but I thought as no-one else had taken the bait...

Yes! You should see the amount of stuff my dad pulls out of the dryer. Happens more when school's in, because of uniform and all that. Never bother checking my skirt's pockets...

Have you ever learned an instrument or other skill to impress someone you fancy?

I have never done anything like that. Lucky for me, my instrument is my voice. :-)

Okay, hmmm...

Have you ever lied to someone who loves you?

Hell yeah, but nothing of any consequence. The worst I've probably done is telling a friend nothing is bothering me when something is. Or pretending to be fine so my family doesn't have to worry.

I'm more with the witholding than the lying. And it tends to be more for others' sake than my own.

Have you ever done something purely out of spite and not regretted it later?

Hehehe! This is bad, but I HAVE done something purely out of spite and I had no guilt over it. I can't decide if that makes me a bad person or not. Oh well, not going to worry about it.

Hmmm, Have you ever taken something that didn't belong to you?

Yes, I have. Back when I was a kid I had sticky fingers.

But, it's been a long time. I wouldn't even think about it now.

Have you ever spent time with/ hung out with someone you didn't really want to because you didn't know how to say no?
And what of Henry, my Odysseus? Henry is an artist of another sort, a disappearing artist. Our life together in this too-small apartment is punctuated by Henry's small absences.

Yes, I have. I have issues with the word 'no'. I do it all the time. I'm not particularly social outside of school. As in, I have a lot of school-friends, but there are only certain people I ever really hang out with outside of school.

I tend to get sucked into things very easily.

That, and my evil little cousins. Though, I don't imagine telling them 'no' would make Lilliput-handspan of difference.

I did not LIE to a cop. I may have ran from one, but it's not technicly the same.

I never did get caught.

Have you ever had to push someone away because of what they were doing to themselves?

I'm fortunate enough to have always had friends who have incredible amounts of common sense and intelligence (sometimes too much).

I think, though, that when I've had friends who are doing something that I'm not (a bad, self-destructive thing), we've tended to just drift apart. I've never had a good/close friend who has done anything that harmful. Stupid, yes, but not life-destroying.

Have you ever watched the same movie more than twice in a day?

Nope. I generally avoid movies, other than for dates that I know are going to be awful, which brings me to my question...

Have you ever chosen a specific activity (like a movie) for a date just to avoid having to talk to said date?

Not for a date. Strangely enough, I am not allowed on dates, but I can have a boyfriend. I have done that for a random going out with friends thing. Although, we end up talking all throughout the movie.

I'm one of the people you throw popcorn at in the movies, then they turn around and cuss you out.

All the time. I don't like anything. My friend's decided to just assume that I like nothing when she's cooking, and goes from there. Then again, I felt rather food-brave while we were in the US. People asked us if we'd ever had Indian food before.

I was amazed that they asked... We make it at home probably once a week.

Grilled pumpkin, though. Hated then loved.

Have you ever said something really stupid or wrong in another language to someone who speaks it?

(I'm - probably wrongly - assuming the Americans here have all done a little Spanish and the English all done a little French, by the way...)
