CSI Casting

Postby marymagdalen on Thu Aug 28, 2008 12:21 pm

This will be old news to some people I'm sure, but I just heard that Laurence Fishburn is to replace Bill Peterson in CSI:CSI. I just wondered what y'all think about that? :?

And is there any news on who will replace Gary Dourdan? (assuming the shooting was as fatal as it looked at the end of the last season! :( )

This doesn't really have any relevance to what you asked, but I love your signature, Leni :D.

Isn't it odd that, 'Ne aspernandi animos tuos affligant' became, 'Noli illegitimi carborundum' which, in turn, became, 'Nil illigitimum carborundum'?

Oops, there I go being a dork again. I need help, seriously.

Pseudo-Latin nonsense just makes me laugh.

OK, you got me - its a lot of years since I did Latin, so... you'll have to tell me what the first two mean! I just liked the bit I used! :P

Erm... laugh in a good way? :?

Haha, yes in a good way. It gets changed into slang :P. Carborundum doesn't actually exist.

The first one is 'Proper Latin', and means something a little more ponsy than Nil illigitimum carborundum does, whilst the second one means the same thing, but Noli is apparently more correct.

It comes from a WW1 saying by an American General or something. At least I think I remember that being the case. Could have been WW2. But meh. And he actually quoted British Intelligence :P.

Yeah! It means something like "don't let the b******s grind you down" or something! Just thought it went nicely with the Neil Young quote - which has got to be THE best intro to a song I ever heard! :D

I'm getting a little excited about the new season... even if we are getting too many new people and Warrick's leaving.

Hows news going for the other two shows?

Well, Horatio is still going to be gracing us with his cheese and the sunglasses of justice. Eric and Calleigh still haven't pounced on each other (why in God's name not?). And Ryan and Natalia might just get some screen time this season.

What's new? :P

Haha, no, some of the spoilers are looking interesting.

Anyone know what NY is doing?

Nothing for NY yet. Actually, I think I'm going to try to stay spioler free for that particular show I think. It'll be nice to be a little shocked every now and then.

But, I'm getting pretty stoked for the new seasons. These shows ROCK the world.

For LLK's sake, I'll keep my mouth shut, but if you wanna know what I've heard, PM me. :)
Dean: Talking to a messenger of God on a cell phone. It's kind of like watching a Hell's Angel riding a moped.
Castiel: This isn't funny, Dean. The voice says I'm almost out of minutes.
