Thank you, Zelda!

Heh, "hot". Oops. I was half way through editing, and then FF.net stopped working (server crash or some such?). Anyway, will be rectified soon. Ish.

Hehe, I got at least two of the semi-colons right. Haha, that's probably more than I have before. And I agree that the songle inverted comma looks wrong. I just put it there then sort of forgot about it.

I think in the original draft (a little of this was written before the Challenge, as a hand-written hard-copy) had some of the corrections you gave, which is weird. Hehe.

I'm glad you like the ending. I can't remember writing a lot of it because I was absolutely. Knackered.

But I'm glad you liked it, Zalda, thank you for all your corrections and kind words!

 Where's mine? I'm the only one who hasn't got one yet. Is it bad? It's only my second one, ya know.

It's okay. I kid, I know there is a week to do it. I just can't wait :-D I'm excited.

Sorry, My bad! I've been crazed this week.

Okay, here it is; better late than never...

TQ: Did you know where the song lyrics you'd chosen were from when you first picked them? Did you research and find out? Did it matter? For those of you who did look them up how did knowing the source material change the direction you were going with the piece? Did you like this particular added edge to the challenge or did you find it more bothersome than beneficial? From reading the piece you're critiquing would you presume the author felt the same way about the previous questions? Do you think she answered them the same way?

I had no clue where the lyrics came from, and honestly, I didn’t research it. It didn’t make much difference to me nor would it have changed the way I used them. I found them beneficial in that they gave me some ideas that pushed me in a direction that I might not have gone. I wouldn’t presume to know how Gwendolyn felt about the lyrics, but I suspect that she had as much fun as I did using them.

Thanks for such a great challenge!

Critique:

First of all, sorry this is so late getting in. I really enjoyed reading your fic. I’m not a dedicated fan of Desperate Housewives, but I’ve seen enough episodes to know that this would have been perfect as an episode. I enjoyed reading how each character saw what they would have liked their lives to have been then were faced with the reality of what they actually were. It was appropriate that all of the women ended up facing the reality with each other.

I giggled when I saw that you used the phrase “Shake it like a polaroid picture”. The way you used it was so appropriate. Who wouldn’t come out with something like that after drinking a couple of margaritas and taking codeine?

There were a couple of spots that some of the wording was a bit confusing, but it in no way detracted from the overall pace of the story. The plot was easy to read and follow even for a non-watcher like me.

You did a great job!
Brian: "Sunshine, how did I ever get along without you?"
Justin: “You didn’t."
